Stalwart Dredge

Stalwart Dredge (Fighter Archetype)
The stalwart dredge is a dedicated martialist trained to engage in enclosed spaces, such as the tombs and catacombs of the anpur cities. They rely on their agility and maneuverability instead of heavy armor and shields while engaged in battle.

Skills: A stalwart dredge adds Acrobatics (Dex), Escape Artist (Dex), Knowledge (nobility) (Int), and Perception (Wis) as class skills.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A stalwart dredge is proficient in light armor, bucklers, simple weapons, monk weapons (including exotic monk weapons), and close weapons. This modifies the weapon and armor proficiencies of the fighter class.

In the Dredge (Ex): At 1st level, a stalwart dredge gains brawler’s cunning. A stalwart dredge also must choose any one weapon she is proficient with to designate as her chosen weapon. She has +1 to all combat maneuver checks with that weapon. This replaces the bonus feat gained at 1st level.

Focused Training (Ex): At 2nd level, a stalwart dredge gains Weapon Focus with her chosen weapon group. If she has the Quick Draw feat, she can act during a surprise round, and if her chosen weapon is not hidden, she may draw her chosen weapons as a free action during that round. This replaces the bonus feat at 2nd level.

Squeezed Combatant (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, a stalwart dredge reduces the penalty to her AC and attack rolls for squeezing in a narrowed space by +1. At 6th, 10th, and 14th level, the penalty is reduced by an additional +1. At 18th level, a stalwart dredge no longer loses her Dexterity bonus to AC while squeezing. This ability replaces bravery.

AC Bonus (Ex): At 3rd level, and every four levels thereafter, when a stalwart dredge wears light armor or no armor, she gains a +1 dodge bonus to AC and CMD. She loses these bonuses while immobilized or helpless, wearing medium or heavy armor, or carrying a medium or heavy load. This replaces armor training 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Adaptive Weapon Training (Ex): At 4th level, a stalwart dredge gains Weapon Specialization with her chosen weapon group. If she has Weapon Finesse, she gains a bonus equal to her Dexterity modifier on damage rolls instead of her Strength modifier (if any). This replaces the bonus feat at 4th level.

Chosen Weapon Training (Ex): At 5th level, a stalwart dredge must select weapon training that incorporates her chosen weapon group. The stalwart dredges weapon training bonus with her chosen weapon improves by +1 on attack rolls and +2 on damage rolls for every four levels beyond 5th (to a maximum of +4 on attack rolls and +8
on damage rolls at 17th level). The stalwart dredge does not gain weapon training in any other groups as she increases in level.

Counterattack (Ex): At 6th level, a stalwart dredge may make a melee attack as an immediate action against an enemy that successfully makes a melee attack on her. This ability can be performed a number of times per day equal 1 + 1/2 her fighter level (minimum 1). This cannot be used in conjunction with a swashbuckler’s opportune parry and riposte deed. This replaces the bonus feat at 6th level.

Stunning Recovery (Ex): At 12th level, a stalwart dredge has gained a hardened resolve that equals her nimbleness. Any enchantment or stunning effects placed on the stalwart dredge has its duration reduced by half (minimum of 1 round). At 16th level, this ability also applies to paralysis effects. If the ability or spell is a permanent effect, such as a lich’s paralyzing touch, the stalwart dredge can attempt another save once every 10 minutes. This replaces the bonus feats gained at 12th and 16th level.
