These people are defeated survivors of the Dey Ayun Marek, followers and victims of the routed Great Old Ones. Sikayans survived on the northern margins of the old world, becoming nomadic hunter-gatherers on the Sikoyan Tundra. These land were not coveted by the Elemental Lords, and besides slave raids, they were rarely even thought about. A group of Sikayan slave-soldiers still survive in the Deserts of Siwath, maintaining much of their culture after centuries of isolation because of Zendiqi xenophobia.

Sikayans are spirit-worshipers, but the spirits they worship are not all of nature; beneath the everyday magic to survive there is an undercurrent of reverence for a darker, truer faith. They revere Tsathoggua as the avenging flood, Hastur as the lord of arctic night, and Shub-Niggurath as the mother of blubber. The most devout tribes offer regular sentient sacrifices and lure visitors to join them in their rites. Others have given up the Great Old Ones to become animists, these are often the tribes that seem most backwards to outsiders, but might provide allies once they are understood.
