This darkwood +1 ghost touch heavy crossbow has a jackal’s skull in place of a standard stirrup design. The canine teeth have a +1 enhancement bonus and counts as a +1 dagger when wielded as a melee weapon, allowing it to threaten adjacent squares. The teeth can be further enhanced separately from the crossbow and have weapon abilities added to it as a melee weapon. The wielder incurs no penalties on attack rolls when using the finis crossbow as a melee weapon. A character wielding the finis crossbow can freely switch between melee and ranged attacks during the same round.

The crossbow has an extra-dimensional space that can hold up to 50 bolts, allowing it to be reloaded as a free action. As a swift action, a specific bolt, such as one made of cold iron or adamantine, can be loaded into the flight groove of the bow. Adding or removing a bolt by hand takes a move action.

Once per day, a bolt fired from the finis crossbow can become a slaying bolt keyed to the particular creature being targeted by its wielder. Activating this ability is a move action.
