Within the area of this spell you create an immense Gygaxian trap. The trap can contain pressure plates, swinging blades, gouts of flame, and all other many of insanely elaborate mechanisms. Any character able to detect traps, through mundane or magical means, is certain that the trap is real. When the trap is detected the trap also appears to be triggered. The trap does not target anyone but shows the danger of the trap.

The illusion makes a CMB check (+7 plus spellcasting modifier) to demoralize all those that view it with-in 30 ft. The trap then appears to reset. Of course, the effect is illusory and nothing happens if the trap is “sprung”; its primary purpose is to frighten away thieves or make them waste precious time.

If the party ignores the trap and walk through it, an illusionary portal will open which appears to sum-mon an elder dragon. Again, neither the portal nor the dragon are real. This illusionary trap contains both audio, olfactory, and visual elements.
