Description
This item is, indeed, the preserved heart of an angel outsider, usually a movanic deva fallen in battle or treachery. Possession of such a thing will outrage good characters and authorities, who will insist it be turned over to a benevolent temple for reconsecration. Using an angel-heart as part of spell with the calling or summon descriptor to bring forth a being of the demon subtype allows the user the benefits of the Augment Summoning feat. Giving up the angel-heart to the called demon bypasses all spell resistance but uses up the item.
